Dongguk to Bring Prof. Shin to Prosecution Over Doctorate Forgery
Dongguk University Friday resolved to dismiss assistant professor Shin Jeong-ah, 35, and bring her to the prosecution for her doctorate forgery at an extra board meeting.
The university also decided to discipline all the faculty members involved in the forgery case for failed verification of her doctorate when she was selected.
Following the decision of the board, Oh Young-kyo, president of the university, apologized for the scandal in a statement at 2 p.m. and a five-member panel headed by Vice President Han Jin-soo revealed the outcome of its investigation into the scandal in a press conference.
