Disclosure of Teachers Affiliations
Dear editor,
I agree with a Sept. 17 Korea Times editorial that the disclosure of information about teachers' affiliations is justified.
If parents are to make good choices about what school to send their children, they need to have accurate information about the schools they approach and apply to.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has taken the right step in allowing schools to reveal only the number of teachers in terms of their affiliations, but not their names.
This gives parents accurate information, without disclosing private information about teachers.
In a democratic society, it is not only trained professionals, but the society as a whole, which must have a say in decisions that affect their lives.
