Princess Cruises, a global cruise line, is offering promotions in celebration of its 50th anniversary.

In its Cruise Money event, the cruise line is providing passengers “cruise money” that can be used for shopping, spa treatment, liquor purchase and other services on its cruise ships.

The cruise money is valid for all cruises this year and is offered to customers who make reservations by Jan. 30. Passengers, up to two per cabin, can receive between $15 and $250 in cruise money according to the length of their cruise stay.

In another event, Princess Cruises is offering “buy two, get two free” trips to Southeast Asia.

Its 115,000-ton vessel, Sapphire Princess, sets sail from Singapore to other Southeast Asian countries. Two passengers can be joined by two friends or family members for free. This promotion is available on the three-night, four-day cruise to the Strait of Malacca and the four-night, five-day one to the Malay Peninsula.

The Strait of Malacca cruise starts from Singapore and travels to Penang and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and then returns to Singapore. The cruise ship departs on Feb. 6 and 13. The Malay Peninsula cruise starts from Singapore and stops at Penang, Langkawi and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and then returns to Singapore. The cruise ship departs on Jan. 26 and Feb. 9.

The cruise prices start from 249,000 won, including meals and entertainment, and vary according to dates and the grades of cabins. They do not include port fees and roundtrip flight tickets from and to Singapore.

“If you are planning trips to Southeast Asia with family or friends, the ‘buy two, get two free’ promotion is the best choice for travel savings. If you make reservations by Jan. 30, you can also get cruise money,” an official at Princess Cruises’ Korean branch said.

Besides the two cruises, Princess Cruises offers trips to other Southeast Asian countries, including one travelling from Singapore to Vietnam and Thailand and another travelling from Singapore to Malaysia and Phuket.

Sapphire Princess, the ship used for the promotional Asian tours, is one of Princess Cruises’ 18 vessels.

The 291-meter-long, 63-meter-high ship can carry 2,670 passengers and 1,100 crew members. It has an outdoor movie theater; the Princess theater, where live performances are held every day;a spa; a fitness center; a casino; a children’s center; bars and clubs; four swimming pools; duty free shops; a wedding chapel; Internet cafes; a nine-hole putting course; a library; an art gallery; a photo gallery; a medical center; five restaurants; a poolside pizzeria; an ice cream bar; a beauty salon; concierge services; and 24-hour room service.
