The Plaza has announced that it has donated all the proceeds from the sale of teddy bears to Compassion Korea on Jan. 22. The donation was part of its philanthropy campaign “Purple in Your Heart 2013.” The fund will be used by Compassion Korea to supply drinking water to children in Africa. General manager of the Plaza, Yuji Hirahara, and the vice president of Compassion Korea were present during the donation ceremony.

“Purple in Your Heart” is a charity campaign that the hotel runs every year-end season, during which signature teddy bears specially made by the Teddy Bear Museum are offered for sale.

In December, the hotel’s teddy bears and mini teddy bears were sold in the hotel or given to guests as part of accommodation packages.

All proceeds will be donated to Ghana’s GH-944 Compassion Children’s Center for the construction of waterways, storehouses and washstands to be used by the children and local residents.
