Renovation Spruces Up Lotte Hotel

Lotte hotel, in the heart of Seoul next to City Hall, Myeong-dong shopping district and Lotte Department Store, has always been a symbol of a luxurious and friendly place to stay. World-renowned celebrities, tourists and businesspeople have for the past three decades chosen the hotel for various reasons including good traffic and its great views. The hotel is now ready to give a facelift to its interior designs facilities. From June 2007, renovation was slated for all 740 rooms in the main building, to be completed by September 2009.
The renovation plan, in addition to the hotel's reputation and facilities, made it the winner in the Best Room category.
Renovation with top designers
SOM, Wilson & Associates, HBA and Babey Moulton, four unique and world-renowned design companies, are participating in the renovation.
Thanks to their magic, each floor has a unique, distinguishable feature. Conversely, they're cohesive and come together as Lotte Hotel rooms.
SOM has given its rooms a clean look. White for the walls and beige furniture makes them bright. By using glass and steel, unconventional for ordinary hotel rooms, the simplicity and modernity stand out.
Wilson & Associates invitingly contrasted bright and dark colors. While walls remain white, the floor is covered with dark marble and the carpet with graphic patterns, giving an edge to the rooms and club lounge.
HBA added a taste of Korea to each room, getting rid of unnecessary accessories and installing glass walls between the bathroom and bedroom. Latticework makes for Korean traditional windows.
Babey Moulton has managed to offer an oriental mood with its modern and bright style.
VIP Club Floor
Nothing would be perfect without special facilities for visitors. The 31st floor offers a club lounge for VIPS. Special catering will be provided five times daily, ranging from a breakfast buffet to lunch with snacks and coffee, afternoon tea with cookies, sandwiches and cakes, cocktails with cold dishes and evening chocolate and pastry services.
Anyone can feel at home with the convenience of international magazines and newspapers available and workstations with email access.
Ladies' Floor
It has been a mere four months since the ``Ladies' Floor'' was introduced to the public after the third renovation stage wrapped up in September, but the place is already the talk of the town.
The 22nd floor of the main building offers 21 deluxe rooms and a suite with a ladies' lounge.
To match the feminine atmosphere, there's a Jacuzzi, accessory holders, beauty-drinks, organic juice, facial sheet mask packs, razors, herbal tea and other items. Foot massagers and aesthetic steamers can be installed on request.
Guests are also provided with welcome amenities including flower bouquet from celebrity florist Christian Tortu, wine, macaroons and fruit. They will also receive 5- 20 percent discount vouchers for duty free shops, shopping escorts and hair and in-house make up service at the guest's request.
