Guest Chefs to Cook Up Exotic Flavors

Among the best places to enjoy international cuisine are in-house restaurants of top hotels.

The Renaissance Seoul Hotel is holding an Indian cuisine promotion from April 22 to May 2.

The hotel will invite guest Indian chef Bhairav Singh Rajput from the Renaissance Mumbai Hotel.

With more than 15 years of culinary experience, the chef will conjure up various Indian dishes at the hotel's buffet restaurant, Elysee.

Rajput plans to provide his specialties, including chicken tikka masala, fish and coconut curry, tandoori chicken and naan bread.

The price is 35,000 won for the weekday lunch, 46,000 won for the weekend lunch and 51,000 won for dinner. For more information, call (02) 2222-8635.

At the Millennium Seoul Hilton, guests can sample traditional tropical dishes from Hawaii.

The hotel's international buffet restaurant, Orangerie, will hold a Hawaiian food promotion through the end of this month.

The restaurant will host the ``Orangerie Aloha Luau,'' highlighting traditional Hawaiian cuisine and showcasing its culture through music and dance performances.

Diners will be entered into a draw in which the winner will receive a trip for two to Hawaii, including airline tickets and accommodation.

The lunch buffet costs 47,000 won for adults and 28,000 won for children 12 and under, and 52,000 won for adults and 31,000 won for children at dinner. For more information, call (02) 317-3143.

How about sampling the tastes of Central America?

The Grand Hilton Seoul is hosting a ``Taste of Mexico Festival'' through April 20 with a spicy and authentic selection of cuisine from the Central American nation.

Guest chef Juan Armando Zapata Icthe, from the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort, will be on hand together with Mexican musicians to create a vibrant festival atmosphere.

As part of the festival, the hotel's Buffet Restaurant and Atrium Cafe will both serve up a buffet spread, ranging from classic burritos and enchiladas and other Mexican delights.

The buffet is priced at 42,000 won for lunch and 52,000 won for dinner.

For guests who prefer to dine a la carte, the Atrium Cafe also offers three- and four-course set menus, priced at 39,000 won and 49,000 won, respectively.

At the Shilla Seoul, guests have the chance to indulge in Chilean dishes and wines.

The Parkview Cafe & Bistro at the hotel presents a special Chilean menu through April 23 in a co-promotion with the Embassy of Chile.

Carlo Von Muhlenbrock offers a variety of Chilean dishes using fresh ingredients including pork and seafood.
