Renaissance Seoul Hotel

Renaissance Seoul Hotel has appointed Tony Pedroni as the new general manager.

He is from Ireland and an alumnus of HOSTA Ecole Hoteliere in Leysin, Switzerland. He came to Seoul with 20 years of international hotel management experience gained in Europe, the Middle East, the United States and Pacific Islands.

In time, the hotel has completed a transformation with a major recreation center refurbishment and new innovative restaurant concepts. The hotel is also spearheading the latest Corporate brand standard for Renaissance Hotels and Resorts.

Ritz-Carlton, Seoul

Oksan Buffet restaurant of the Ritz-Carlton, Seoul is promoting ``Singapore Food Festival'' through Oct. 19 with guest chefs from the Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore.

A wide selection of Singapore foods will be provided by six stations _ Appetizer station, Soup station, Hot selections, Live action station, Grilled station and Desserts station. Guests can also enjoy worldwide food with over 100 selections on the menu at the restaurant.

Sheraton Grande Walkerhill

Sheraton Grande Walkerhill holds the original European circus, ``ZEPHORA,'' including Germany's Longcali-style act for the first time from Oct. 26.

The circus is famous for the clowns who have more than a thousand facial expressions and the irresistible wit and humor as well as skilled and graceful acrobatics.

The circus can be enjoyed with a 5-course dinner with wine.

The performances are presented from Monday to Saturday, two times a day, priced from 65,000 won to 115,000 won.

Lotte Hotel Seoul

Peninsula, Lotte Hotel Seoul's Italian restaurant presents, a ``Fall in Fall'' event to celebrate the harvest season with an autumn themed decor from Oct. 22 through 26.

The dining event will feature special set menus and a special wine promotion that includes a glass of a sparkling wine with the meal for each person ordering from the special menu for dinner.

The menus, prepared from the freshest seasonal ingredients are priced at 43,000 won per person for lunch and 70,000 won per person for dinner.

The event will also offer the ``Fall in Fall Lounge Party'' commencing at 6:30pm on Oct. 26, which feature an Italian semi-standing buffet and ice bar with a variety of drinks from all over the world such as fine wines, vodka and other popular liquors.

W Seoul-Walkerhill

W Seoul-Walkerhill has appointed Ciaran Hickey as cuisine director of the hotel.

The 43 year-old Irishman will be responsible for all restaurants in the hotel _ home style cuisine restaurant Kitchen, contemporary Japanese restaurant Namu and organic spa restaurant Tonic.

He has built up his career mostly in Four Seasons hotels in London, New York, Istanbul and Bahamas and gained lots of experiences ranging from all day dining and fine dining hotel restaurants to cater events with more than 1,000 guests participating.

Best Western Premier Seoul Garden Hotel

Lee Il-kyu, chairman of the Best Western Premier Seoul Garden Hotel has received the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit.

The honor was given to Lee during a ceremony to celebrate the 34th Tourism Day, hosted by the Korea Tourism Association.

The top award was given to Lee for his efforts to enhance hotel services with reasonable charges and to lead a healthy hotel industry culture.

At the event another 220 people garnered awards for their contribution to promoting the local tourism industry and attracting foreign capital.

Previously, Lee has also received various government-led awards such as the Tin Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit and the Iron Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit.
