Kim Jong-kook's Beijing concert sells out in two hours

K-pop singer Kim Jong-kook's solo concert in Beijing, China has been sold out within two hours after going on sale.

He gained popularity in China as SBS's variety show "Running Man," in which he participates in as a regular, is broadcasted in China. A Chinese film version of "Running Man," which was released on Jan. 30, earned 227 million yuan (39.7 billion won) during its opening weekend.

Urban Works Ent, Kim's agency, announced that the singer will hold a concert at Beijing on Saturday and the 5,000 seat venue was completely sold out.

"The Beijing show is the second among Kim's concert tour in China, following the Dec. 27 concert in Harbin. The Beijing concert is on St. Valentine's Day and Kim has prepared events for this romantic occasion," Urban Works official said.

Kim, 38, debuted as a part of dance duo Turbo in 1995 and later pursued a career as a solo artist including his seventh album "Journey Home" in 2012.
