Neuroradiology society has new chief

Dr. Kim Bum-soo, an associate professor of radiology at the Catholic University of Korea (CUK) Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, was appointed president of the Korean Society of Interventional Neuroradiology (KSIN), the university announced Monday. He will serve a two-year term.

“I will work to increase exchange with related organizations,” he pledged.

Kim studied medicine at CUK and in 1992 became a specialist in diagnostic radiology. In 1997, he served as a visiting fellow at the University of Hamburg in Germany, and in 2001, as a research fellow at the University of Toronto in Canada.

He is a member of the Korean Society of Radiology, the Korean Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and the European Society of Radiology.

The KSIN was established in 1994 and has as its members some 200 experts in interventional neuroradiology.
