Tate curator to oversee Venice Biennale

Lee Sook-kyung
The Arts Council Korea said Monday that it has appointed Dr. Lee Sook-kyung, curator at Tate in the United Kingdom, as the commissioner for the exhibition at the 2015 Venice Biennale Korean Pavilion.
Tate is a prominent institution that houses the U.K.’s national collection of British art and international modern and contemporary art.
Lee studied art history and theory at the University of Essex and has since served as exhibition and displays curator at Tate Liverpool and curator for the Tate Collection Asia-Pacific Acquisitions Committee. She also currently serves as a research curator at the Tate Research Center for the Asia-Pacific.
The biennale is to take place from May to November of next year. It is a major contemporary art exhibition that takes place in Venice, Italy, every two years. It includes the Venice Film Festival and the Venice Biennale of Architecture.
