Diageo Korea appointed Cho Kil-soo, a former vice president of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, as its new chief, replacing outgoing managing director Kim Jong-woo.

The leading whiskey seller in Korea said Tuesday that Cho will take the helm from July 1. Cho will be responsible for the North Asia market, with a focus on Korea and Japan.

Cho started his career as an assistant production manager at Nestle Korea in 1990. He then worked at Kellogg Company until moving to Johnson & Johnson in 1999.

An official said incumbent CEO Kim tendered his resignation for personal reasons.
