YG Entertainment, which represents K-pop groups Big Bang and 2NE1, will move from its rented office to a new seven-story building of its own in Mapo-gu, Seoul.

It has been 12 years since CEO, Yang Hyun-suk, established the entertainment agency.

``I, along with two other workers, started YG in 1997 in the basement of a small building in Hapjeong-dong. We have rented additional space in line with the growth of the YG family over the years,'' Yang told Yonhap News.

``Now all of our employees will be able to get together in the same workplace. We will work harder with the same attitude that we had when we started YG.''

YG, one of top three entertainment firms in the nation, plans to move to the new headquarters at the end of January.

Once they finish the move, Big Bang, 2NE1 and other singers are set to release new albums, he said.

He said the construction of the new headquarters was aimed to help find and nurture promising new singers.

``Our biggest goal for this year is to develop new beginners who are as talented as Big Bang's G-Dragon and Tae Yang,'' he said.
