Six Winners of Fifth Economic Essay Contest Picked
The Korea Times is pleased to announce the six winners of the 5th English Economic Essay Contest.
The Grand Awards went to
Memeh Polycarp Ngu
, a Cameroonian international trade major at Ajou University, and
Kim Sae-mi
, a journalism major at Ewha Womans University.
Ngu will receive a round-trip airline ticket from Seoul to Frankfurt and Kim will get a round-trip ticket from Seoul to Los Angeles.
The Runner-Up Award went to
Hyun Joo-hyung
, a major in business administration at Dong-A University, who will receive a laptop personal computer.
The winners of the three Commendation Awards are
Kim Chi-seul
, an international studies major at Ewha Womans University;
Troels Moller Kranker
, an international studies major at Seoul National University; and
Cade Holleman
, an American international cooperation studies major at Yonsei University. Each of the winners will receive a round-trip ticket from Seoul to Jeju Island.
The winning essays will be published in the Oct. 30 edition of The Korea Times on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the nation's oldest English daily, which falls on Nov. 1.
Each winner will be individually informed of the details of the awarding ceremony, which will be held at the Plaza Hotel in Seoul, on Nov. 2.
The Korea Times expresses special appreciation to all applicants and Woori Bank, the sponsor of the competition. The paper hopes more students will participate in the competition next year.
