Shin Hae-chul Discharged After Treatment
Popular singer Shin Hae-chul, 41, said he was released from a hospital several days ago after nearly 10 days of treatment.
In a posting on his homepage, he said, ``I had been hospitalized for nearly 10 days. I have been diagnosed with liver, stomach and heart diseases.''
He said his liver has grown large enough to cover other internal organs.
``It's all symptoms from alcohol addiction,'' he said.
Shin said the release of his new album, originally due next month, would likely be delayed.
``I have nothing else to do but music. But I cannot even yell now,'' he said.
Shin, notorious for his sarcastic criticism of conservative government policies, said he will not be able to drink or smoke anymore.
``I won't drink again even if not only former President Roh Moo-hyun but also my father passes away,'' he said.
