Fans of Mariah Carey will have a chance to meet the American pop superstar once again in Seoul, next week.
Carey will be in town on a promotional tour for her new album ``Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,'' which was released late last month. It's been six years since her last visit to Seoul in 2003.
Universal Music Korea said Carey is scheduled to hold a press conference at the Grand Intercontinental Hotel, Samseong-dong, Tuesday. She will have an autograph-signing event at 9 p.m., Wednesday at the Evan Record store at COEX Mall.
Some 130 lucky fans will also have a chance to meet Carey at a special fan meeting at the MTV Korea studios in Chungmuro, Jung-gu, Seoul, Wednesday. The show, which will be hosted by Clazziquai singer Alex, will be broadcast live on MTV Korea's Web site www.mtv.co.kr at 6 p.m. To have a chance to be chosen, fans can enter a contest on the Web site.
``Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel'' is Carey's long-awaited 12th album. She has already come out with two singles ― ``Obsessed'' and a remake of Foreigner's 1985 hit song ``I Want to Know What Love Is.''
Carey has won five Grammy Awards, including the much coveted Best New Artist award in 1991 and Best Contemporary R&B album for ``Emancipation of Mimi'' in 2006. She has also received 11 American Music Awards, including an honorary award in 2008.
Throughout her career, she has racked up 18 number one singles on the American Billboard charts, which have stayed on top for a total of 79 weeks.
