Top Financial Regulator Attends Basel Committee
Financial Supervisory Service Governor Kim Jong-chang participated in the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), which occurred in the Switzerland city on Sunday.
Top financial regulators and central bank heads from 27 member countries took part in the biannual meeting that focused on how to improve financial status and liquidity of banks in the aftermath of the global economic swoon.
Kim also met with his counterparts from China and Japan to discuss how to beef up the three Asian countries' cooperation in the financial segment.
Kim plans to make a speech on Tuesday in London about Korea's economic status and the direction of financial supervision of Asia's fourth-largest economy.
