A female public servant grabbed a full-time job of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), beating 88 international contenders, the Ministry of Land, Transportation and Maritime Affairs said Wednesday.

Kim Gu-seul, 30, an official of the aerospace police division of the ministry, will work for the U.N.-affiliated organization starting next Monday. Kim is the first female Korean to become a regular ICAO employee.

Her major job will include helping manage ICAO business plans and to collaborate with seven regional bureaus of the organization around the world, it said.

ICAO, an agency of the United Nations, codifies the principles and techniques of international air navigation and fosters the planning and development of international air transport to ensure safe and consistent growth. Its headquarters are located in Montreal, Canada.
