Prof. Han Young-sil, 50, has been elected 17th president of Sookmyung Women's University in Seoul. Han pledged she would introduce unique curricula for each department and foster ``creative talents'' among students during her election campaign.
She has also suggested making profits by building holding companies and building up ``Sookmyung Culture Center'' in international cities as part of the school's globalization.
After earning her doctorate at the university in 1990, Han served as chief of Korean Food Research Center and general director. She will head the school from September for four years.
