A Glance at Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission

By Kim Sue-young

Staff Reporter

The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) was launched on Feb. 29 as a result of a merger of three organizations dealing with anti-corruption, administrative appeals and public grievances.

The commission consists of a total of 15 commissioners, including a chairman and three vice chairmen appointed by the President.

The commission aims at balancing all three functions as a single organization, while helping the nation revive its economy by easing restrictions and improving systems.

Even though the commission was created less than two months ago, it has dealt with 23,373 cases of public grievances, 92 corruption cases and 23,178 administrative appeals.

People can ask the ACRC for help regarding civil rights violation, corruption or civil appeals by calling 110 or visiting www.epeople.go.kr.
