Singers Team Up to Help Taean

K-pop singers teamed up to record a song to draw attention to those affected by the oil spill that hit Taean in South Chungcheong province.
Led by Lee Hyun-woo, 41, other singers like Lee Juck, Lena Park, JK Kim Dong-wook, Lee Han-choul, Woongsan, Yang Dong-geun and Bizzy formed the ``Taean Project Group'' to publicize the harsh reality of Taean and sing a song named ``Miracle.''
As a member of the Korean Federation For Environmental Movement, Lee Hyun-woo has been actively volunteering in Taean area since last year. He composed and wrote the lyrics for ``Miracle,'' which declares that working together in one accord can help the people of Taean to recover from the disaster.
``When I saw the cruel reality of Taean, I decided to record a song with my colleagues to help the region,'' said Lee.
The group also made a music video that shows them recording and includes footage of volunteers working at Taean.
Lee is a singer and actor who debuted in 1991 and released many hit songs like ``The Day After Parting.'' His latest album ``Heart Blossom,'' which is his 10th was released last year.
He became famous as an actor for his appearance in the 2003 MBC drama ``Rooftop Room Cat.'' Mostly, he plays a supporting role with a gentle image.
He also starred in the musical ``Singles'' last year. Currently, he hosts a reality dating show on cable television XTM.
``Miracle'' was released for online music Web sites Feb. 28. All profits from the song will be used to raise funds for the restoration of Taean.
