Kwang Dong's new painkiller helps ease menstrual cramps

Pain reliever, Speed Queen, developed and marketed by Kwang Dong Pharmaceutical
Kwang Dong Pharmaceutical has released a painkiller designed to ease menstrual cramps, the company said on Friday.
The pill, called Speed Queen, is an over-the-counter (OTC) medicine.
“We have developed the pain reliever, particularly for women,” a spokeswoman said. “It has proven effective in reducing pain for those suffering from cramps during their periods.”
She said the pill was a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug containing mainly ibuprofen, which can alleviate pain and reduce inflammation. The compound is also used to treat arthritis and muscular strain.
She said the pill was designed to relieve pain in the lower abdomen by reducing womb contractions.
The daily dose is three pills, according to the company.
