Turtle marathon on Sunday

Readers of The Korea Times are invited to come to Mt. Nam in downtown Seoul for a stroll this Sunday and participate in the 432nd Turtle Marathon. The monthly event organized by the Hankook Ilbo, a sister paper of The Korea Times, has drawn more than 120,000 participants since 1978.
Lee Seok-woo, mayor of Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province, will lead the walkathon and also promote the 2013 Namyangju Slow Food Festival, which will be held Oct. 1-6. Winners of the 2013 Miss Korea beauty pageant will also participate in the walkathon.
Upon finishing the walk, there will be a draw for presenting prizes.
Middle and high school students who participate in the cleanup afterwards will receive certification for completion of three hours of voluntary work. Participation is free. For more information, visit turtle.hankooki.com.
