Class on dementia scheduled
Korea University Anam Hospital is holding a class on dementia to help improve the health of the community. Professors at the hospital will give lectures on topics such as diagnosis, prevention and treatment, followed by a Q&A session. The class is open to anybody and participants will be provided with small gift and snack.

Yonsei University Medical School to lead 10 bil. won research
Yonsei University Medical School said it was designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to lead a research on prevention of cardio and cerebrovascular diseases, which are increasingly burdening society. A total of 18 professors from seven universities will participate in the joint research project, with 10 billion won in funding from the government.
“In order to overcome limitations of epidemiological studies, not only the researchers of preventive medicine but also of basic and clinical medical science, public health and other sectors, both domestic and overseas, will participate in the research,” said Prof. Kim Hyeon-chang at the school who will be heading the research.
Presentation on chronic pain
Seoul Paik Hospital is scheduled to give a lecture on chronic pain at Chungmu Art Hall in Shindang-dong, downtown Seoul, at 2 p.m. on July 9.
Prof. Choi Hey-ran at the hospital will explain the causes and treatment of pain as well as the right exercises and postures patients should adopt.

Chronic neck pain patients wanted for study
Kyunghee University Hospital in Gangdong, eastern Seoul, is looking for people with chronic neck pain to participate in joint clinical research by medical doctors and doctors of Korean Oriental medicine.
Participants in the study should have been suffering the pain for over three months and be aged between 18 and 65. They will get up to eight or nine treatments during the three week session, and also get transportation expenses.
