Have you ever experienced something you dreamed happening during the daytime? Have you ever flinched at a certain scene that you might have once seen before repeating, like deja vu? Are you sometimes captivated by a weird feeling in the morning over a strange dream and its vivid after-image? Do you call the person who comes to mind immediately to tell them what you dreamed about, according to your intuition? If the dream has a dreadful implication, do you ask them to be careful?
Dreams relate to other peoples’ lives too, especially those close to you. It is strange when you dream something that you have never seen or done before and when that is realized during the day time.
How is this possible?
We sleep approximately one third of our lifetime. It is precious time we take to restore our energy for the next day. If we could take advantage of dreams on top of this passive recess, it would make our lives a lot richer.
While sleeping, we have four or five different dreams for about 100 minutes in a night. Among them, the last one before we wake up is most likely to leave some impression.
Those who have a good recollection of their dreams may have lucid dreams. They know that they are dreaming and even communicate with those who appear in them. Leaving the lucid ones aside, what kinds of dreams do we usually have every night?
Some are literally absurd. Other times they are just a reflection of our subconscious or an expression of repressed emotion. We may dream about what we heard or saw during the day, which does not have any significant implication for the future.
On the other hand, some dreams are indicative and practically applicable to our life. If we learned how to skate, for example, we may simulate it in our dream. After practicing in a dream, we may find ourselves skating better the next day. This is a reason why our dreams are called some of the best opportunities for a learning effect. Sometimes people will say, “Get some sleep and discuss the matter with a clear mind the next day”. This explains how our brain is refreshed and dream helps us through sound sleep.
I have been told by many people that they have experienced exactly same as they dreamed. I once dreamed I was in a car collision and the same thing happened the next day in an identical situation.
Furthermore, we may receive revelations in our dreams. They sometimes come from an ancestor’s voice or from divine existences. Most frequently, people are advised of diseases and forthcoming accidents or deaths. They involve not only positive but negative images. A woman once dreamed that her husband hit her stomach with a stick. Next day, she went to a hospital and they found she had stomach cancer. In another case, a man dreamed that he has a tumor cut out and the next day he found his chronic indigestion was cured. A dented car or broken parts of your house in your dreams often portray poor health.
Dreams are an exceptional channel to indicate upcoming incidents or to acquire an important solution for what we are longing for. Some historically valuable creations, such as The Beatles’ hit song “Yesterday” and Demitri Mendeleev’s periodic table of chemical elements, are said to be inspired by dreams.
Dreams are often compared to telepathy, hypnosis or even reincarnation. There is, of course, no scientific proof to these assertions. Some scientists have tried to corroborate dreams by studying brain activity, which does not fully contribute to define genuine connotations of dreams.
Most people want to know what will happen in their daily lives. Daily fortunes relating to astrology and Zodiac signs are some of the most read articles in newspapers. It is because people want clues for the future. Instead of relying on those columns, which provide just general information, I encourage you to pay more attention to your dreams. Awareness is a key attribute, in order to make your dreams more allusive. You may have to spend some minutes to contemplate what you did and what you want to do. This is a good starting point to develop intuitive powers. Then, without asking someone else’s advice or needing the help of daily fortune telling articles, you will become a true fortune teller of your life.
