Why is Korean National Assembly battling so often?

The Korean National Assembly is located in Yeouido, Seoul. Let’s think about the geographical aspects of Yeouido to understand fengshui. Is Yeouido the right place for politics? How is it related to “saju,” or four pillars of destiny?

From ancient days, people have always tried to complement imperfections in their destiny, while they believe that they were given their destiny from birth, which cannot be altered and manipulated. This is partly because, we, human beings were born imperfect, and thus, we have to find some ways to supplement the deficiency. It is also because they thought they could not get every answer by reading their birth signs. This given destiny was called “myeong,” in Korean. It also means a life or a universal order that we have to follow.

There are many people born on the same day and time. Are they destined for the exactly same life? And how about the lives of twins? Saju still owns some answers to these questions, nevertheless these kinds of questions were endlessly asked.

The oriental understanding of the universe has never inserted the lives of humans into a rigid frame. It was some fraudulent fortune tellers who actually deluded the world.

As I always said, there must be some unanswered open space. Meanwhile, a true and sincere scholar must be unpresumptuous to open ears and eyes for divergent opinions. And he or she must investigate further to find more causes and effects.

From this perspective, people studied other aspects of destiny to understand and get more answers. One of their efforts showed in the study of fengshui.

If saju is a study of time, fengshui is a study of space. If saju claims that destiny is determined, fengshui suggests that destiny can be improved with appropriate remedies. Saju is sharp in observing a personal destiny. However, when it comes to a family’s, community’s or a nation’s destiny, fengshui provides more meaningful analysis and solutions.

Fengshui, has been acknowledged not only by Asian countries, but by many Western countries. And it is gaining more and more credibility globally. It maybe a reaction to the rapid development of materialism caused by rationalism. It seems like people do feel certain comfort from the oriental mysticism.

Fengshui, literally meaning wind and water, teaches how to control wind and acquire water. Although Korean and western fengshui have developed in slightly different directions, Western towards a focus on yang fengshui of living places, Koreans towards a focus on yin fengshui of graveyards, they ultimately tell how to find a propitious site and make our environment a more harmonious place to live in.

Now let’s go back to the agenda of Yeouido.

Yeouido, where the Korean National Assembly Building is located, is fundamentally not a calm and solemn place. Actually it is always astir. The members of the National Assembly are busy dissenting, struggling for power and battling over issues. It can be very natural for democracy, but it’s hard to dismiss the feeling that the Korean Assembly battles excessively among them. Also it is not infrequent to hear corruption scandals related with enterprisers.

We may find some causes by reading the fengshui of Yeouido. Actually this analysis is written in most Korean fengshui books, so it is not something new or special.

l Water energy determines wealth.

l Yeouido is surrounded by the Han River.

l There is more wind blowing in the area.

Traditionally a place where energy gathers was called a propitious site. Water suggests wealth and the water shouldn’t be leaked geographically. Rivers or roads, which are often compared as water, should embrace the place in order to emit good fortune. The place shouldn’t be located at the outside edge of the flow. The outside edge hits the place with negative energy.

If you had a chance to look at the map of Seoul, Yeouido is surrounded by the Han River. It is undoubtedly a good place to accumulate wealth. Accordingly, it is quite natural that many financial institutions and security companies are located in Yeouido. There also are many broadcasting companies because of the abundant wind and water.

Then is it appropriate for politicians? Obviously the water, especially the winding abundant energy causes bribery and corruption and the wind creates rumors and scandals.

In conclusion, Yeouido can be a good area for broadcasting and financing, but it is not proper for politics. It just produces endless friction among politicians.

According to fengshui, everything is required to be located rightly in order to have a better fortune. Likewise, by well-utilizing fengshui, we may be able to get supportive advice to supplement the lacking in individual saju.
