While the Mr World contestants are battling to become “the world’s most desirable man,” their antics are being followed by thousands on the Internet.
Hooked up to social networking sites Facebook and Twitter, more than 3,000 people are monitoring Mr World, most cheering on their county’s representative.
“We stand above the rest ‘Sri Lanka,’” reads one comment on the Mr World Facebook page, written all in capital letters by Yohan Wijeyawardena.
“Go Indonesia go,” reads another comment, and “well done South Africa," another.
The 74 contestants currently competing to become Mr World _ split into the yellow, blue, red and black teams _ have been engaged in a series of challenges, including a paintball tournament and a talent show. Mr World will be chosen this Saturday in a televised finale at Songdo ConvensiA, Incheon.

Top stars, including actors Lee Da-hae and Julien Kang and British supermodel Alesha Dixon, will host the show, while popular K-pop groups 2pm and Girls' Generation will perform.
