Spanish a cappella quintet b vocal will embark on a Korea tour on June 5 starting at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. They will also perform in Ulsan, Gimhae and Gangneung.
Founded in 1997, the fast-rising ensemble has popularized a cappella in Spain through an innovative combination of songs and humor and a wide-ranging repertoire from both national and international sources.
They have gained international recognition through many entertaining shows in various venues worldwide, such as Broadway where their shows have been sold out for the last few years. They perform around 200 concerts annually.
In March 2010, b vocal received one of the most important international recognitions of their career _ Jury and Audience Awards at the Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival in New York, a premier showcase for unaccompanied vocal music.
They have been coming to Korea since 2011 and their shows have been met with great enthusiasm, according to organizer SPA Entertainment.
The program for their upcoming Korea tour will include some Elvis Presley songs such as "Hound Dog" and a selection of arias by Mozart and Handel. They will also sing their own compositions including "Korean Girl," which b vocal composed for their Korean fans.
Tickets cost from 30,000 won to 100,000 won. For more information, call SPA Entertainment at (02) 523-5391.
