Drumline Live, the show-stopping new attraction created by the music team behind the hit movie ``Drumline,'' will bring the marching band tradition to the theatrical stage in Korea.

After touring 60 cities in the U.S. from January this year and Japan in April, the band, consisting of 40 percussionists, trumpeters and other soulful musicians and performers, will perform at Olympic Hall, Olympic Park, May 1-3.

The members, including eight percussionists, nine trumpeters, six trombone players, five tuba players, two saxophonists, two euphonium players, one flutist, one piccoloist and five professional choreographers will hone their precision and energy, with years of experience from training in marching band programs.

This upcoming show will be directed by Marilyn Magness, Director of Creative Entertainment at The Walt Disney Company. Magness has directed films, live shows and parades produced by the Walt Disney Company staged in the United States, France, Japan and Hong Kong. In the show, Magness will show off harmony between the instruments, focusing on the artistry of every part.

The live show, influenced by the 2002 hit movie of the same name, involves more than just percussion instruments. The musicians will present the high notes and simultaneously perform the choreographed dance routines.

They're joined on stage by a large cast of colorful and flamboyant performers from top Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). This versatile group of musicians and performers brings an explosive energy and athleticism to an eclectic mix of sounds.

Equally at home with the hottest contemporary hip hop, R&B, classic Motown tunes and the rousing sounds of the great brass tradition, Drumline Live is designed to share the American marching band experience with a wider audience.

With riveting rhythms, bold beats and ear-grabbing energy, the staged show will be a synchronized musical showcase of the HBCU experience. Incorporating original compositions and soul-infused interpretations of top 40 hits, group performances will range from colorful, choreographed routines to heavy doses of drum riffs and cadences.

Tickets cost from 22,000 won to 88,000 won. For more information, call 1544-1681 or visit www.drumlinelive.co.kr.
