Korean Industry Minister Ahn Duk-geun virtually met his Australian counterpart Tuesday to discuss ways to bolster their countries' bilateral cooperation in supply chains and future industries, such as the clean energy and digital sectors, Ahn's office said.

A virtual meeting was held between Ahn and Australian Trade Minister Don Farrell to discuss ways to expand the two countries' collaboration in various fields, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

In the meeting, Ahn called for the Australian government's support for Korean companies investing in the country for critical mineral and other businesses.

He also asked for the active participation of the Australian government and companies in the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which will be hosted by Korea later this year. (Yonhap)
