Korea's deputy foreign minister has visited Uzbekistan to discuss ways to bolster ties in the supply chain of critical raw materials, the foreign ministry said Tuesday.
During their talks on Monday, Deputy Foreign Minister Chung Byung-won and his Uzbek counterpart, Bobur Usmanov, also agreed to expand cooperation in other areas, including energy and infrastructure.
The two sides agreed that the two countries have great potential for partnership in critical raw materials, given Uzbekistan's resources and Korea's advanced technology, and decided to seek stronger ties in supply chains by promoting projects for commercializing rare metals. (Yonhap)
