US in close consultation with China over NK: State Dept.

WASHINGTON (Yonhap) -- The United States maintains close cooperation with China on North Korea, the State Department said Monday amid reports that a top Chinese ruling party official is on a trip to Pyongyang.

The ongoing visit by Wang Jiarui, head of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China, put Pyongyang-Beijing relations into the media spotlight again.
