Second IAEA Inspection Team Leaves Pyongyang
The second team of U.N. inspectors left Pyongyang Saturday for Vienna after completing a two-week inspection of nuclear facilities at Yongbyon in North Korea, Xinhua news agency reported in the North Korean capital.
Although they were returning to the headquarters in Vienna, the U.N. nuclear watchdog had sent another two inspectors to continue monitoring work at Yongbyon, Xinhua quoted one member of the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) inspection team at the airport.
"The second team has completed its work successfully at Yongbyon," an official of North Korea's Atomic General Bureau on condition of anonymity was quoted as saying.
Following the first team, the second IAEA team arrived in the North on July 28 to start the two-week inspection at Yongbyon.
The IAEA Director-General Mohamed El Baradei announced on July 18 that the DPRK had shut down all its five nuclear facilities.
