Eun Ji-won, the leader of 1990s K-pop boy band Sechskies, will release a solo album on June 27.
It is his first solo work under YG Entertainment, which he joined in 2016.
A black and white teaser photo, unveiled on the YG website Thursday, shows Eun hiding the lower part of his face with a glittering material-studded fabric, with “G1” in red ― letters making the same sound as his name.
Further details of the album, including the lead track, remain unknown.
“Eun has been working on the album for a long time,” a YG official said. “So it might contain various tracks.”
Eun, 42, debuted in 1997 as a member of the first-generation K-pop group Sechskies. The six-piece band rose to stardom thanks to multiple hit songs including “Couple” released in 1998.
After the team's disbandment in 2000, Eun launched a solo career and appeared on dozens of TV shows, including KBS's “2 Days & 1 Night.”
In 2016, Sechskies reunited and inked a contract with YG. It released its fifth album, “ANOTHER LIGHT,” in 2018.
