Korean comedienne Lee Kook-joo, 32, revealed her unpleasant feelings for people nagging her about her weight, and demanding her go on a diet for her own good.
On Friday's edition of TV Chosun's talk show “What Makes Women Mad,” Lee disclosed that many people still tell her that she would look much better if she lost some weight.
“Then, am I out of shape right now?” asked Lee.
“I do what I have to do to take care of my health, so I do mind people giving such unwarranted advice.”
Lee said that people are relatively generous about fat male comedians and some even describe them as “pleasantly plump.”
“For a female comedian like me, people would say losing weight can ruin my career,” she said. “Now they tell me to go on a diet.”
Recently, Lee made a guest appearance on the SBS variety show “Running Man.”
