Exploring Korean route in Antarctic

The K-route expedition unit of the Korea Polar Research Institute (KOPRI) explores inland of Antarctica to make the nation's own route by the end of 2020, with an aim of becoming the sixth country to have a research station there to achieve better research results. The straight-line distance of the Korean route will be 1,700 kilometers from the KOPRI's Jang Bogo Antarctic Research Station, the institute said, noting that the unit has so far secured the 720-kilometer route. / Courtesy of Korea Polar Research Institute
