Hyundai Mobis will showcase its human-centric mobility technologies at this upcoming CES in January in Las Vegas, seeking to break down the boundaries between people and technology through their organic connections, the company said Thursday.
At the tech show, the company will promote its three state-of-the-art human technologies: the holographic windshield display, its human-centric interior lighting system and a brainwave-based driver distraction care system.
Having participated in CES since 2016, Hyundai Mobis will mark its 10th consecutive year at the event, unveiling its latest advancements in mobility innovation.
The Holographic Windshield Display was co-developed with global optics firm ZEISS. The display is a panoramic projection across the car's windshield that features various elements such as driving information, navigation and infotainment content while still providing an unobstructed, open feeling so that drivers can check the screen without taking their eyes off the road. The display spans the entire length of the bottom part of the windshield.
A special optical film is installed on the front windshield so drivers can access a variety of information. Hyundai Mobis plans to mass-produce the display as early as 2027.
The human-centric interior lighting system features a change in indoor interior lighting in line with a driver's mood and situation. The smart lighting system displays 32 different situational patterns to reduce the stress of drivers and motion sickness.
Visitors to the firm’s booth during CES 2025 can experience the smart lighting technology, which responds to users’ biological rhythms and health, as well as the vehicle's immediate environment.
M.Brain is the firm’s flagship human technology to be unveiled at the upcoming tech fair. It analyzes drivers’ brainwaves to monitor their inattentive states in real time. For instance, when they are at risk of drowsy driving, the system issues warnings by delivering warning lights around the seat of the driver or providing tactile caution through vibrating seats.
“Based on our leading technological competitiveness, we aim to expand the proportion of sales from global automakers to 40 percent of our total core auto component sales by 2033, propelling us to become a global top three automotive supplier,” Hyundai Mobis President Lee Gyu-suk said.
