Volkswagen Korea’s flagship Tiguan SUV is becoming increasingly popular due to its competitive pricing, as more customers are seeking vehicles that offer proven quality and good fuel efficiency, making the Tiguan an attractive option in a time of prolonged economic sluggishness.

The Tiguan is undoubtedly one of the nation's most sought-after imported SUVs, thanks to its competitive pricing, with models priced below 50 million won ($37,300). Specifically, the Tiguan 2.0 TDI Prestige model is available for 49.61 million won.

The Tiguan is ideal for drivers seeking to minimize fuel costs. Equipped with a diesel engine, it offers a fuel efficiency of 15.6 kilometers per liter, which is significantly higher than that of most gasoline-powered vehicles.

The German SUV's proven quality is another major advantage. Since its debut in 2007, the Tiguan has consistently ranked among the world’s top-selling models. Many critics argue that the vehicle has "set a standard" in its segment, as it offers well-rounded performance without any notable downsides.

The vehicle also delivers a powerful driving experience with an output of 150 horsepower, making it well-suited for both city driving and highway journeys.

The Tiguan is also equipped with Volkswagen Group’s state-of-the-art driving assistance technologies. Drivers can benefit from the highly praised Travel Assistance feature, which helps maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead and keeps the car centered in its lane. This system is powered by a combination of advanced front cameras, radar, and ultrasonic sensors, according to the German automaker.

“The Tiguan has established a strong identity in the global auto industry, particularly due to its proven performance and fuel efficiency,” an official at the carmaker said.

The diesel version of the Tiguan meets the Euro 6d emissions standards, thanks to its eco-friendly EA288 evo engine. The carmaker has equipped the vehicle with its Twin-Dosing system, which reduces nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide emissions by approximately 80 percent compared to the previous engine.
