Mercedes-Benz Korea names new CEO

Mercedes-Benz Korea said Sunday that Britta Seeger has been appointed as new CEO.

She will become the new CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea and Daimler Trucks Korea effective March 1.

The post has been vacant since her predecessor Thomas Urbach suddenly died in November while he was in Germany to visit the automaker’s headquarters in Stuttgart.

Seeger started her career with Daimler in 1992 within the sales organization of the headquarters in Germany.

In 2000, she was promoted to senior management for the automotive e-retail and customer-connect business, and in 2003 she continued her career within marketing of global service and parts in various positions including product management after-sales and service operations.

Since December 2010, the 44-year-old has served as Director of Sales and Marketing Parts in Stuttgart.
