Citibank Korea hosted the Korea Digital Leaders Summit 2023 in Seoul on Wednesday, inviting over 30 executives from the country’s key digital companies.

The bank has been hosting various seminars and summits for corporate clients that run businesses on digital platforms to share the prospects of digital markets at home and abroad and to support the companies advancing into global markets.

In October, Citibank Korea hosted the Citi APAC Digital Leaders Summit 2023 in Malaysia together with Citi APAC, where over 100 participants including founders, CEOs and executives of leading digital firms located in the Asia-Pacific region convened.

At the summit in Seoul, Klleon’s co-founder and CRO Kang Ji-su, Mastercard’s director Lee Won-woong, Korea Trade?Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) M&A team head Choi Dong-chul and Smilegate Investment managing director Kim Young-min joined as keynote speakers.

Kang, the co-founder of Klleon, an AI-related startup, gave his speech on the rapidly changing digital industry and the challenges and opportunities in the AI era.

Lee covered Mastercard's virtual card account (VCA) services, which were first introduced in Korea by Citibank Korea and are still used frequently as a means of payment in digital markets.

KOTRA’s Choi, meanwhile, shared his expertise on corporate M&As that is helpful for digital companies entering markets overseas, and how to apply it to businesses.

Afterward, Kim from Smilegate Investment presented the trends and prospects of domestic and global investment markets, which are meaningful to startup clients.

Kim Seok-hyun, the head of cash sales department of Citi Commercial Bank (CCB), showcased Citi’s global banking services that provide financial solutions needed in each phase of a digital company’s growth, spanning from establishment and going overseas to being listed, and the topic garnered keen interest from the digital corporate clients.

“I hope the Korea Digital Leaders Summit provides assistance to Korea’s digital corporate clients with excelling technology, so that they can further expand their presence in the global market,” Citibank Korea CEO Yoo Myung-soon said in her welcome speech at the event.

“As a trusted financial partner, Citibank Korea will continue to extend advanced financial services to diverse corporate clients going into overseas markets.”
