Hana Financial honors multicultural family members

Hana Financial Group hosted an award ceremony to honor outstanding members of multicultural families who have set examples for their communities, the company announced on Wednesday.
Marking its 15th year, the award was introduced by the company as a first for the banking industry, in line with nationwide efforts to transition to a multicultural society.
The award was organized by Hana Nanum Foundation, the banking group's charity service arm, and sponsored by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
The ceremony was held at the group's headquarters in central Seoul. It was attended by Hana Nanum Foundation Chairman Kim Han-jo, Minister of Gender Equality and Family Kim Hyun-sook and ambassadors to Korea, including Nguyen Vu Tung of Vietnam and Maria Theresa Dizon-De Vega of the Philippines.
A total of 13 individuals and one organization were honored, with a Vietnamese woman winning the grand prize.
“Hana Financial Group is committed to supporting all migrant wives and other members of multicultural families who make Korea's future brighter,” The chairman said.
The minister said the government will “bolster customized support for children and teenagers from multicultural families to help them grow up in a society of harmony and joint prosperity.”
