Hana Bank was named the Best Sub-Custodian Bank by Global Finance magazine in recognition of its commission competitiveness and diversified customer satisfaction capabilities, the lender said Sunday.

The bank has received the award every year since 2008, except for 2010. This year is the first time that a Korean commercial lender has won its 14th award from the Global Finance Transaction Banking Awards.

The magazine spoke highly of Hana's high level of customer services, its competitive edge in commissions, solid sales roadmap and capabilities in meeting the market's diversified needs.

“Hana Bank was recognized again for its three decades of expertise in custodian services by the global market,” an official from the lender said. “We will keep developing our services customized for not just overseas financial institutions and international organizations, but also investors here and abroad.”

Global Finance is a magazine headquartered in New York, with offices in London and Milan. It was founded in 1987 and has a readership of more than 50,000 corporate leaders, financial officials, bankers and investors in 163 countries.

This year, the magazine picked the best custodian banks by region from 82 countries at a time when financial products are diversifying and getting more complex. The magazine takes into consideration diverse factors, such as financial institutions' growth potential, innovation and profitability, before appointing the award winners each year.

Hana Bank has so far received a total of six best bank awards, 21 best foreign exchange bank awards and 21 best trade finance bank awards from the magazine.
