Renault Korea’s new Grand Koleos is making a splash in the Korean automobile market, revitalizing the company’s previously stagnant market share. The vehicle stands out with its French-inspired design, advanced technology features and ride comfort, which puts it on par with other high-end SUVs.
As this is Renault's first new model in four years, the Grand Koleos helped increase the company’s market share in Korea to 4.2 percent since its launch in November 2022. With over 25,000 purchase orders, Renault Korea reports that the Grand Koleos is significantly enhancing the company’s presence in the Korean market.
The Grand Koleos’ sporty look is derived from Renault Group’s flagship sports car brand Alpine. The top trim level is named esprit Alpine. Its exterior incorporates intricate design elements featuring colors reminiscent of the French national flag, including a metallic blue roof and front grille, as well as accents on the steering wheel, armrest, and even the seatbelt.
The Grand Koleos provides drivers with a comfortable ride, featuring a spacious interior measuring 4,780 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width and 1,680 mm in height. The seats are covered in premium artificial leather and an active noise cancellation feature minimizes engine noise.
Three 12.3-inch display screens in front of both the driver and passenger seats provide a connected panoramic screen. It keeps drivers connected to real-time traffic and navigation information and the car’s technical features while driving, while also allowing passengers access to its multimedia system separately.
Firmware over the air, which automatically upgrades the car’s software via a wireless online connection, keeps up-to-date 80 percent of the car's electronic system, which controls auxiliary driving support features, lighting, multimedia and safety features.
“With its smart infotainment (compound of information and entertainment) systems and unique design, the Grand Koleos is becoming our new steady seller,” a company official said.
