Krafton will conduct a large-scale test for its new mobile game Dark and Darker Mobile in major global markets in August, with the United States, Japan and Turkey being potential target countries, the game company said Tuesday.

In April, Krafton previously conducted the first large-scale test for Dark and Darker Mobile in Korea. As the number of applicants exceeded 50,000, the company converted the trial program into an open test for users who wished to participate.

The company said gamers who test-played the game praised its quality and expressed satisfaction, adding that more than 97 percent of users who participated in the test responded that they would play the game again if it was officially released.

With such reviews, Krafton plans to conduct another test in the Korean market in mid-June.

"Dark and Darker Mobile is committed to actively interacting with users as we put an importance on developing the game together with users," the company said.

Dark and Darker Mobile is currently in development, targeting a global market release within the year and the August global test is the final one before the official release. The developer's intention is to actively incorporate feedback from domestic and international users through this final test.

Based on this, the game company plans to improve the game by incorporating the diverse opinions of users identified in the previous large-scale test and showcasing various new content that gamers can enjoy in the test in August.

Dark and Darker is a title that Krafton has high expectations for as it aims to diversify its portfolio, which currently heavily relies on its multiplayer online battle game PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS.

Krafton described the genre of this new mobile game as an extraction role-playing game, allowing users to explore, survive and experience the joy of character growth within a dungeon.

The company added that detailed information such as the exact schedule, target regions and participation methods for the August test will be announced later through the official website and community channels of Dark and Darker Mobile.
