Hyundai Motor is collaborating with Sony Pictures Entertainment to showcase its innovative future mobility in the upcoming "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," which is scheduled to open in Korea on June 21, Korea's largest automaker said Friday.
The company signed a strategic partnership with Sony Pictures in 2020 to conduct various marketing activities utilizing its intellectual property. Through media platforms such as movies, animations and digital content, the company allowed customers to experience Hyundai Motor's new products, technologies and future mobility direction.
In the new Spider-Man movie, Hyundai Motor will introduce various mobility solutions such as "Flying Prophecy," a concept car based on the company's electric vehicle IONIQ 6 design, a purpose-built vehicle, advanced air mobility and a mobility transfer base Hub.
In order to implement the dynamic aspect of future mobility in the animation film, Hyundai Motor's design center and brand marketing headquarters have worked closely with Sony Pictures from the beginning of the movie development.
Its designers and Sony Pictures animators added design imaginations and technology to portray a new landscape of the future city and mobility in 2099.
"We are happy to share the Hyundai Motor's future mobility vision with customers through the Spider-Man series, which is much loved around the world. We will continue to make our customers' daily lives more enjoyable through various entertainment contents," a Hyundai Motor official said.
Prior to the movie's release, the carmaker will open a Spider-Man-themed exhibition at Hyundai Motor Studio in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, from June 9 to the end of August.
Along with IONIQ 6 hanging from Spider-Man's web, the event venue will exhibit an imaginary door that leads to Multiverse, a multidimensional space in the Spider-Man movie.
Visitors who post photos of the exhibition on their social media will be presented with Spider-Man goods. Also, 200 people will be provided with movie tickets through a lucky draw.
