Dongsuh Food is promoting the world-famous cookie and cracker brands Oreo and Ritz this year with its own recipes to celebrate their decades of global popularity.

The major Korean food brand has been introducing variant flavors of America's Oreo cookies and Ritz crackers to Korean local shelves. This year, the company launched new flavors to celebrate Oreo's 111th anniversary and Ritz marking its 90th anniversary in three years.

On May 25, Dongsuh launched a pop-up store in Seoul to celebrate Oreo Day. Referring to the day as the famous cookie's birthday, the company set up the store in Seongdong District's trendy Seongsu-dong for a month. Some 35,000 people dropped by the store that promoted the cookie, which Euromonitor International, a London-based consumer market researcher, selected as the top brand of its kind worldwide.

Oreo donned another new color last February to highlight the year. In collaboration with K-pop act BLACKPINK, Dongsuh launched two new flavors under the "Oreo X Blackpink" campaign: a black version with pink strawberry cream and a pink version with dark chocolate cream.

First introduced by Nabisco in 1912, Oreo rakes in over $1 billion annually from global markets, according to Dongsuh. The company, which started to produce and sell Oreo in Korea in 2011, said the sandwich cookie's popular flavors and distinguished marketing contributed to its global popularity.

Ritz, with over 80 years since its launch in 1935, is another product Dongsuh is promoting this year with new flavors. Last May, the company unveiled Ritz Cracker Onion that used 100 percent Korean onions.

Debuting in the Korean market in 2016 with its original version, Ritz subsequently introduced new flavors like chocolate, cheese and lemon.

An official from Dongsuh said the company will keep working with the two "globally beloved" products to continue attracting consumers' taste buds.
