Intelligent people are more likely to be messy, swear more and stay awake longer, studies have found.
According to a University of Minnesota study, messy environments can inspire people to have fresh insights while clean environments encourage convention.
The study found that people in a disorderly environment are more likely to come up with creative ideas than those in an orderly environment.
Another study, published by online journal Science Direct in 2015, said people who swear tend to be more intelligent than those who do not. The study said people who could name the most swear words in a minute had higher IQs.
And a study published in 2015 in the magazine Psychology Today found that intelligent children tend to grow up to be more nocturnal than less intelligent children. The finding was supported by a fact that night owls have generally higher intelligence.
Those with a childhood IQ of less than 75 went to bed around 11:41 p.m. on weeknights in early adulthood, while those with a childhood IQ of over 125 went to bed around 12:29 a.m.
