Local online food delivery player Yogiyo launched a quick commerce service called "Yo-Convenience Store" in collaboration with GS Retail, the company said Tuesday.
With the new delivery service, a customer can receive any item sold at GS25, GS Retail's convenience store brand, anywhere in the country within one hour.
"With the launch of Yo-Mart followed by Yo-Convenience Store ― which are quick commerce services that maximizes the core capabilities of both Yogiyo and GS Retail, we are able to provide customers with differentiated experiences in food delivery orders. We will continue to do our best to help our customers experience convenient delivery services with Yogiyo based on our nationwide quick commerce infrastructure," a Yogiyo official said.
In particular, Yogiyo has strengthened its customer-centered user interface and user experience to significantly improve convenience and benefits through its platform.
The food delivery firm will also expand its service area. This month, it will launch the delivery service through 500 GS25 stores around the country and expand gradually to 6,000 stores until June.
Customers can request packaging services with their online orders. This will allow them to purchase alcoholic beverages, but only when they pay extra for packaging. They can also pick up their items at any GS25 store near their homes.
Yogiyo hopes the launch of Yo-Convenience Store will beef up its competitiveness in the quick commerce sector.
If Yo-Mart has expanded the provision of convenient grocery shopping services for fresh foods and daily necessities from single-person households to large families, Yo-Convenience Store is expected to satisfy various quick commerce demands for small products for one- to two-person households.
Yo-Convenience Store targets customers in their 20s and 30s who are sensitive to trends, by offering 5,000 brand products of GS25 and collaborative items.
