LAS VEGAS ― Korean startups have made themselves known at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) with an aim to seek more business opportunities, they said Thursday.
They said that they joined the world's largest tech show with support from government agencies and local governments and plan to meet more international buyers at the tech show.
"We've joined the CES with help from KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency). In front of buyers from the U.S. and other countries, we are promoting innovative glass products that prevent cameras from having less visibility in rainy or bad weather conditions," said Lee Han-sol, assistant manager of Vault Creation, a local materials maker.

At the Eureka Park exhibition hall where startups gather as well as other exhibition halls, a total of 91 Korean startups have promotional booths as 12 government agencies including KOTRA have supported them.
Among them, 10 startups won CES Innovation Awards with their cutting-edge products. Award-winning companies do business in emerging sectors such as digital healthcare, eco-friendly agriculture, smart security and computer software.
As well as startups supported by government agencies, startups sponsored by large companies also showed off their presence at Eureka Park.
Samsung Electronics operates the C-Lab exhibition hall. C-Lab is a company incubation program that nurtures its employees' innovative ideas, as well as outside startups, offering financial and technical support.
Samsung said four startups chosen by its in-company startup nurturing program C-Lab Inside and eight companies from its C-Lab Outside program are taking part in the CES. Samsung said seven out of the total 12 startups from the C-Lab program won CES Innovation Awards.
LG Electronics' North American Innovation Center, LG NOVA, also has its booth at Eureka Park. At its booth, 40 global startups selected for LG NOVA's startup incubation program promoted their technologies ranging from digital healthcare and digital assistant services to autonomous delivery.
