LG CNS is strengthening the digital education of students in rural areas through AI Genius, a program linking digital transformation and social contribution, according to the company, Sunday.
The company said it provided digital education such as artificial intelligence (AI) technology training, to 60 students from Ganggu Middle School and Byeonggok Middle School in Yeongdeok, North Gyeongsang Province, on Nov. 14.
During the six-hour program, students learned about new technologies such as AI logistics robots, AI chatbots and MyData, which allows users to manage their own financial data. They also had chances to create their own services.

The AI logistics robot class was a time to experience the core digital transformation technology that LG CNS has been applying to micro fulfillment centers. Students had the opportunity to code and operate logistics robots and AI cameras.
In the AI Chatbot class, students created their own chatbots. Students learned how to check whether the sentence "I am happy today" is recognized as a happy emotion when answering the question "How do you feel today?"
In the MyData class, students had the opportunity to plan and present services that fit their lifestyles, the company said.
LG CNS is expanding its AI Genius program to rural areas and special schools. The program, which started in 2017, has also been offered to youth with disabilities since 2021. To date, the program has provided IT education to more than 18,000 students in 230 schools.
"We will continue to strengthen our digital transformation-based social contribution activities so that more young people in various regions can nurture their dreams of becoming future digital technology experts," a company spokeswoman said.
