She continued, "Korean consumers are known to have a high level of trust in innovative technologies and support efforts to create greater choices and a better society. We will continue to provide accurate information on the dramatic differences between cigarettes and heat-not-burn products and support adult smokers who don't quit to make better choices."
Yun is recognized for her leadership in strategy and finance through her extensive international experience at Philip Morris.
She joined Philip Morris Korea in 1997, where she took charge of corporate affairs, business strategy and budget management.
Yun worked for Philip Morris in Malaysia, Switzerland and Hong Kong from 2003 to 2007, supporting the development of business growth strategies and operational plans for each market.
She was also director of financial analysis and support at Philip Morris International (PMI) in Switzerland from 2008 to 2013, where she was responsible for managing the communication of consolidated PMI financial information.
In 2019, Yun was entrusted with overseeing Philip Morris Australia's financial and commercial strategies. Two years later, she was appointed as managing director there, leading the business in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Outgoing managing director Paik Young-jay, who has been leading Philip Morris Korea since 2020, will move on to new opportunities, the firm said.
"Paik took his position as the managing director of PMK amid the COVID-19 pandemic and quickly stabilized its management, as well as establishing a corporate culture of agility and collaboration," a company official said.
